Honor Menderu’s Legacy

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Menderu, our beloved Malayan Tiger, who died peacefully at the age of 17. Since arriving at Central Coast Zoo as a one-year-old cub in 2008, Menderu captured the hearts of our community and served as a powerful ambassador for his critically endangered species.

Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on — and you can be part of it.

We invite you to honor Menderu’s life with a gift to a transformative project that was already underway during his lifetime. This initiative includes both the expansion of our tiger habitat and reimagined Madagascar-focused exhibits for other endangered species. Together, these efforts reflect the same spirit of compassion, care, and conservation that Menderu inspired every day.

Your donation will help create a lasting tribute — through an expanded tiger habitat and improved spaces for other threatened species — all part of our continued commitment to animal care, conservation, and inspiring guests to protect wildlife around the world

Thank you for celebrating the life of an extraordinary tiger by supporting a project that ensures his impact endures for generations to come.
